Pianist and composer Gustavo Casenave, one of Uruguay's most celebrated artists, directs a captivating evening of passionate and sensuous tango, tango-tap, new tango music, and live painting featuring leading New York-based artists. Electrifying tango dance is performed by Mariana Parma and Carlos Sierra-Lopez and Valeria Solomonoff and Orlando Farias, along with tap danced to tango music with RumbaTap's Max Pollak (named one of the "Top 25 to Watch" by Dance Magazine) and Carson Murphy. Dance direction is by the renowned Mariela Franganillo. The innovative program offers world premieres of new tango music by Casenave performed by the Tango Casenave Quartet (Gustavo Casenave (piano), Juan Pablo Romarion (bandoneon), Nick Danielson (violin), Konrad Adderley (bass)). Artist Vicky Barranguet provides a live painting performance, brilliantly interacting with Casenave's music and top-class musicians and dancers.
