Insurance Scam: Obamacare Benefits Left Out Of Letters

“Across the country, insurance companies have sent misleading letters to consumers, trying to lock them into the companies’ own, sometimes more expensive health insurance plans rather than let them shop for insurance and tax credits on the Obamacare marketplaces — which could lead to people…spending thousands more for insurance than the law intended. In some cases, mentions of the marketplace in those letters are relegated to a mere footnote, which can be easily overlooked. The extreme lengths to which some insurance companies are going to hold on to existing customers at higher price, as the Affordable Care Act fundamentally re-orders the individual insurance market, has caught the attention of state insurance regulators…”.* The companies involved include Humana and Lifewise. The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

Insurance Scam: Obamacare Benefits Left Out Of Letters

Don’t listen to Fox News and the insurance companies that claim you are
    going to lose coverage.

So many people got Junk Insurance…

I’m required to give money to companies that only want my money?

And they have an incentive to not give me good health coverage?

I don’t see how this is a good thing.

Why not just give the money directly to the doctor?

Why do we need a middle-man?

  11. Do you know of any insurance companies that have scammed $16.7 trillion?

  12. It is clear to me today that Americans want health care; but they don’t
    particularly want health insurance.

Health insurance companies, however, convinced the government that they are
instrumental to the delivery of health care, so the government is
    compelling people to buy that.

The Administration’s argument is that too many people prefer to be “free
riders” — that is, they prefer not to pay for their own insurance while
health care reaches an emergency status and is paid for in full by
government services (such as emergency rooms)

    Universal healthcare anyone?

just checked the exchange here in NJ, there are only 2 options and both are
more expensive and offer less benefits than what I currently have… just
received letter that my current plan is going to expire this year and can’t
    be renewed… fail….

  17. Who are these people who don’t want Americans to have healthcare?? WHO??!!

  18. If you don’t know that 0-care is out there, that’s your own fault.
Companies are being forced to change the policies that increase cost. This
is all due to the law. TYT argument on this is absurd. The POS is running
this country into the ground and it is all by design. He hates America.
You just have to read his book to see that. His mother did too! Now it’s
payback time and he is going to make sure it hurts.

  20. ladylordess says:

How is it a benefit, if you don’t want it, don’t need it and don’t want to
pay for it? Obamacare doesn’t allow you to make a choice o 1000’s of
plans, only a few. I don’t need dental or optical, as I find it cheaper to
pay the Dentist, Ophthalmologists and Optometrists directly than to pay
insurance for it. I disagree with the government deciding for me. It is
apparent that government doesn’t make the right choice all time. I prefer
to make my own choice. THAT is America: Freedom.

  21. Janet Dillingham says:

Same bs as the roll out for social security. “someone who doesn’t deserve
this is taking my money”. Listen up. We have millions of WORKING POOR.
People who probably work harder for less money than you. People who aren’t
choosing to be 15 and pregnant, who would be on their parent’s insurance by
    the way.

People who need health care. People who need it. Not want it. Need it. And
Faux News followers who already have insurance through their employers to
whom this doesn’t apply are freaking out because they would rather let the
faucet run and scream shrill screams about the flooding bathtub than turn
    off the spigot.

Be the solution, help those trying to find one, or shut the hell up.

  24. Bruce Junker says:

Americans Beware: please do NOT allow your healthcare to mirror the
Canadian System; WHY? In Canada everything is deliberately done to deny
timely diagnosis – timely medical care; In Canada our system is paid from
tax dollars, most Canadians are ignorant, until they require diagnosis /
treatment; Then they realize how screwed they are; We have waitlists just
    to get on waitlists; 3 year waitlists = Bankrupt;
